Since 1990, Tara Barney has been designing handcrafted jewelry out of unique beads and found objects, like feathers, pine cones, yarn and even corn and coffee beans. Barney never knows what a finished piece will look like . "It's more of an organic process," she says, " I just go with my instincts. I like taking a combination of shapes and colors and making them into something cohesive."  What she likes best, however, is that jewelry is functional, wearable art. "They're conversation pieces, really." This excerpt is from an article in She magazine by Janna Farley. The pictures below are examples of Tara's work.
